Its Day 20 of the 30 days of prayer and fasting. By now you should be stronger than ever. Closer to God than you were in the first week. Seeing answers to prayers. Your faith should be greater and your flesh should be weaker. Weaker flesh does not mean that you as a person should be weak, actually it should be just the opposite. He should be shining stronger through you, as bold as a lion! However, your flesh (how you respond to the cares of this world and the people of the world) should be as meek as a lamb. You should be as wise as a serpent, discerning truth from lies, friends from enemies, and beating satan at his games before be beats you. You should be winning in every area of your life by faith. The attacks may come but you should be responding through speaking the word of God and praise. Your almost there! The finish line is in sight! Keep pressing there is more of Him to discover. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. Continue to endure!

Being who you were created to be, shining brightly for all the world to see, is not all its cracked up to be. "The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials." Confucius
I've had my share of trials. Many of them have left me broken, weak and wounded. I've discovered that during these seasons of life that many individuals will flock to your side to show pity and even come to your rescue. Some with pure intensions and some with ill intensions of gaining some sort of recognition for helping you to overcome. Once you have regained your strength and begin to display a healthier self esteem and an inner strength (that only comes from God) those with pure intension will rejoice with you, but some won't be happy about it. Some become intimidated by your strength and don't know how to take you when you are at your best. These experiences have caused me to withdrawal into seclusion during my broken seasons and emerge cautiously. Often times dumbing down (shining less) to not intimidate others or to not seem too intelligent, for fear of rejection.
The Truth Is... The brighter you shine the more you expose darkness. The dark places around you, and the dark place within the hearts of individuals you encounter. Everything is illuminated around you. You see clearly what had been hidden in your broken state. No longer can you be manipulated by others who saw an opportunity to build you up for their personal gain. When you are empowered, free, and strong there will be individuals who will hate the light because they are in darkness; individuals who are magnetically drawn to the light because they see something in you that they need; or individuals who recognize the kindred spirit within and instantly connect with you because they are shining the same light and together you shine even brighter. The lesson learned is that no matter what type of people you encounter, don't allow your light to be snuffed out because the people around you can't handle it, intimidated by it, or are jealous of it. Shine bright no matter what because eventually either they will be so drawn to the light that their own darkness will fade or they will depart from your life. Be empowered and continue to shine! It's day 14 of the 30 days of fasting and prayer. This morning I have come to realize and understand that fasting changes you before it changes your situation. One of the most impactful revelations that I received during this time of fasting and prayer, is that as we seek the heart and face of God daily in prayer and studying His word, His truths and His Spirit begins to change us. It changes our perspective, our response to situations that we face, and our ability to see and hear clearly the path we should take. It is a time of introspective reflection and purging of hurts, disappointments and fears. It is a time of letting go and letting God work on our behalf. All He requires of us is (1) a willing heart (2) a submitted heart (3) an obedient heart. So today as you spend time at His feet seeking His heart, allow Him to breath on you anew. Refreshing your dry and thirsty spirit, soul and body. He is waiting with open arms to receive you just as you are.
Its DAY 11 of my 30 days of fasting and prayer. What a week last week was! I have released a few things in my life that were keeping me from being the ME I want to be. I feel great! Although they were tough decisions, I feel such a freedom that I'm certain it was the right decision. Of course you never feel that way at first but as time goes by, the reaffirming peace trumps it all. So this past week was all about letting go of the things that were keeping me from being the ME I want to be. Feeling the fear but doing it anyway! Looking towards the future. Ready to walk into DESTINY!
Day 12 The Number of Kingdom Government & Order - as I observed the falling rain on yesterday, it symbolized the cleansing and healing rain from heaven. Washing away every pain, every sin, every stain. Today is all about Kingdom government and order. God has established the work of our hands. (Psalm 90:14-17) Let us rejoice and be glad!
1. Pray for peace, clarity and perspective.
2. Sit quietly (uninterrupted) and take deep cleansing breaths, focusing on releasing any negative emotions or thoughts. 3. Look for the positive in negative situations 4. Read, listen to and meditate on edifying materials daily or hourly if need be :) 5. Avoid toxic people, places and things. 6. Talk or write to release what you are feeling. Holding it in will become toxic. 7. Verbalize what you are grateful for daily no matter how small. |
